Dhanushkodi and Rameswaram Attractions | Floating Stones of Rameswaram | Dhanushkodi Road Trip

Rameswaram is popular as a pilgrim center but it is also an attractive tourist spot. Dhanushkodi is becoming increasingly popular as a riders' destination. Details of this trip including the route map can be found on our blog foodntravel.in - in Malayalam. You are watching Food N Travel Channel on YouTube. Subscribe Food N Travel: https://youtube.com/foodntravel Subscribe to Jaunt Monkey: https://goo.gl/Y22wgb In Rameswaram we stayed in Mandapam at Cabana Coral Reef. Cabana Coral Reef offered us a wonderful stay close to the tranquil waters of Bay of Bengal. Cabana Coral reef changed our perception about Rameswaram as a pilgrim spot. The spectacular beach view and the container cottages of the resort that stayed on the sands of Bay of Bengal gave me a thrilling experience. We started off from the resort on the next day early in the morning. crossing Pamban Bridge we moved on to the southeastern tip of India - Dhanushkodi. Dhanushkodi is popular as the Ghost Town of Rameswaram. The entire story of Rameswaram and Dhanushkodi can be read from our blog foodntravel.in. However, in this video we are sharing our experience at Dhanushkodi, Ram Sethu Point, The Ruins of a Church at the Ghost Village, Rameswaram Temple, Floating Stone Temple - actually they were keeping corals as floating stones, Pamban Bridge, Mandapam Fishing Village, and APJ Abdul Kalam Memorial. Kothandaramar temple was another attraction that we visited on our way back from Dhanushkodi to Rameswaram. While we were driving from Rameswaram to Dhanushkodi, we had plans to stop at several other interesting spots but during our return the sun was baking and we didn't wish to fall sick under the scorching sun. Kovalam is one of the most popular destination in Kerala. This Kovalam beach hotel is among the luxurious hotels that we can choose from a wide range of accommodation alternatives in this exotic beach destination. What I liked most about Turtle on the Beach is it's swimming pools that has a backdrop of Arabian Sea. While the entire hotel has the charm of a luxury village, the Sky View Suite is the ultimate. However, while selecting this hotel in Kovalam as your preferred stay do not forget that it is a five star category hotel. Dawki Trip: Beautiful Meghalaya | Umngot River, Meghalaya's Crystal Clear River

Dawki trip was the part of our 5 days road trip to beautiful Meghalaya. We traveled to Meghalaya while we were on our Northeast India Trip. The primary attraction here was the Umngot river of Meghalaya. Please do subscribe to Jaunt Monkey: https://goo.gl/4HZaUq This is about our Dawki Road Trip from Shillong in Meghalaya. Dawki Trip: Meghalaya crystal clear river, living root bridge Meghalaya, and Mawlynnong village During this trip we experienced Umngot river, living root bridge of Meghalaya, and the cleanest Asian village. Our experience on the 3rd day in Meghalaya was so vibrant and lovely. We started off from Shillong by Meghalaya Tourism's organized tours (government tour). The first stop that we enjoyed during this trip was Deep Dark Valley. The valley and hillocks where amazingly lush. From there we moved on to the living root bridge to the cleanest Asian village, and to the crystal clear river. What we had experienced in Meghalaya was mindblowing and that made our decision to plan another Meghalaya Road Trip or better say Meghalaya Bike Trip in September 2018. We started off from Trivandrum early in the morning. We wanted to cover the entire coastal route until Rameswaram through Kanyakumari.

We had our breakfast at Vijilesh's home with Idly Sambar and chutneys. We though travelled through Kanyakumari, we did not shoot any videos there as we had already done a detailed video about Kanyakumari during our Nagaland Trip.

Watch our video about Hornbill Festival: https://youtu.be/e2pD7cmv40U

We crossed Kanyakumari by around 10:30 in the morning and drove through the plain lands of Tamil Nadu. It was hot and there were plenty of windmills and chimneys. Then came the distant view of western ghats. On our way we stopped for tender coconut and then stopped at the salt fields of Vaippar in Tamil Nadu. We continued and cruised through the palm fields until Keezhe Shanmughapuram for Palm Wine. After almost 8 hours of road trip, we reached Mandapam (on this side of Pamban Bridge in Rameswaram). We had prebooked our accommodation at Cabana Coral Reef Resort.
Cabana Coral Reef Resort was on the shores of Bay of Bengal. On that side of the sea it was so pristine and calm. Distance from Mandapam to Rameswaram is just under 35 kilometers. The stay in Cabana resort was a unique experience for me - a container accommodation. At a price of Rs. 5000 they offered accommodation for two + 3 times food for us + 2 water sports (Snorkeling and Kayaking).
Until my stay in Cabana Coral Reef Resort I never knew that Rameswaram has such a wonderful opportunity for watersports. In fact I never searched for Snorkeling in Rameswaram or Kayaking in Rameswaram.
We stayed in the resort and enjoyed the food - Idiyappam and Prawns Masla (String Hopper and Prawns Masala). They also served us Coconut milk for idiyappam. Next day morning we went for exploring Rameswaram and Dhanushkodi. We will have a video about Dhanushkodi in the coming week.
