Join me as I take the train from Mainz to Rüdesheim am Rhein! I will explain things I've learned about the trains as an American living in Germany. I will also show you around beautiful Rüdesheim am Rhein which is home to the Niederwalddenkmal, a massive monument erected in the 1880s, as well as the ruins of Burg (castle) Ehrenfels. Check out my Merch! https://www.redbubble.com/people/kemc302/shop You can learn more about Niederwalddenkmal here - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Niederwalddenkmal I've had some really interesting and somewhat dramatic experiences on the trains here in Germany because of not knowing German and not being familiar with the system. If you want to hear some of my stories, let me know in the comments! The restaurant I got the coffee at is called Villa Weil and is located at Rheinstraße 15, 65385 Rüdesheim am Rhein, Germany. Check it out if you can! Hi! I'm Kelly and I am an American who lived in Germany for 18 wonderful months. While I lived abroad before in Turkey and had done quite a bit of traveling beforehand, those 18 months in Germany definitely broadened my perspective of Germany, Europe, and even the US in so many different ways! I wanted to share my perceptions with you guys through YouTube so that maybe you can gain context to things you've heard about, or learn new information or a different perspective, or maybe this is everything you've heard before and further confirms your world view. No matter what the reason, I hope that you enjoy my videos! In mathematics there are right answers. In poetry there are no wrong ones. Find out how learning a foreign language, especially one that can be as beautifully logical as German, taught World Slam Poetry Slam Champion Harry Baker the two were a lot more linked than he realised. More information on http://www.tedxvienna.at Poet and Mathematician Harry Baker has always had a love of language, and his work has taken him around the world and exposed him to many voices and languages used to express those voices. Living in Germany was no different! This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at http://ted.com/tedx

I got a LOT of advice when I found out I was moving to Germany. Here is some of the more practical advice and tips that helped me and could be useful for anyone planning to go as a tourist, or even to live there.
