Backpacking in Yosemite National Park | 7 Days in the Backcountry

This is a short edit documenting our 7 day backpacking trip through Yosemite National Park. Our hike started in Tuolumne Meadows at the Glen Aulin trail (02:35) and over the next seven days we hiked to McGee Lake (04:40), Tenaya Lake (09:47), Sunrise Lakes (12:56), Clouds Rest (15:00), John Muir Trail (17:05) and the Mist Trail (18:16). We ended our hike in Yosemite Valley. During the week we experienced sun, rain, hail (graupel) and temps ranging from the low 20s to mid 70s.

Yosemite Valley has been inhabited for nearly 3,000 years, though humans may have first visited the area as long as 8,000 to 10,000 years ago. The indigenous natives called themselves the Ahwahneechee, meaning "dwellers in Ahwahnee."
