WHITE POVERTY (in the New South Africa)

More than 40 000 whites, of a total 4,5 million South Africans are currently classified as absolutely poor and live in informal settlements. Shacks and tents can be found on farms hidden far away from the public eye. Occasionally you may see a white beggar at the traffic lights, but in general most South Africans deny that there is such a thing as white poverty. This is the story of several white families who have lost their jobs and fallen into poverty as a consequence of preferential treatment for blacks. They are known as the "poor whites," a group that hardly gets discussed but that is rapidly increasing in size. Director Saskia Vredeveld follows an older couple that tries to help by picking up food at the supermarkets and meat auction and handing it out to the poor. They do not get any financial support from the government for their work, and it is only thanks to their determination that they manage to keep their heads above water. They bring us along to Coronation Caravan Park, an encampment just outside of Johannesburg where a large group of primarily white people live in wretched conditions. Africa is poor and 5 other myths | Simon Moss | TEDxWarwick

Poverty isn't getting worse. Food isn't running out. Volunteering overseas is not the best way to help. Simon Moss debunks six myths about poverty and asks a series of new questions to reshape the way we think about relief. Simon is a campaigning and community education expert. He has contributed on development issues at some of the world's leading conferences including the G20, the World Economic Forum and the Clinton Global Initiative. He is the co-founder of the Global Poverty Project, an education and campaigning organisation working towards the end of extreme poverty, and wrote the ground-breaking 1.4 Billion Reasons presentation, which has been delivered 750+ times to 100,000+ people since 2009. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)

In the Western Media we are bombarded every single day with images of AFRICANS in deplorable situations.
FLASH NEWS!!! Poverty is found in all Nations but the MEDIA has maliciously attributed poverty ONLY to AFRICA!!

Inventions of the American Mind regarding the global world. For most Americans the mention of Africa immediately conjures up images of ferocious animals, strangely dressed "tribesmen" and impenetrable jungles.

... Meanwhile the WEST (big corporate industries) gets rich of African Natural Resources they turn around and say Africa is poor!!!!

I call it the AFRO-INFO REVOLUTION!!!!
