The Calgary Zoo in Canada held a grand opening ceremony Monday morning to welcome four Chinese giant pandas, with dignitaries from the governments of China and Canada in attendance. The Calgary Zoo expects about 1.5 million visitors to come to see the pandas in the first year, which will bring 18 million Canadian dollars (14 million US dollars) to the local economy and create 200 construction jobs and 40 new zoo-related positions.
