Located in Southern Europe, this boot-shaped country is one of the world’s most popular travel destinations for a number of reasons that include art treasures, trendy fashion, stunning landscapes, passionate people and top-class cuisine. Italy offers so much to see and do that it would take a lifetime to explore.
We rented a car and spent a month in Italy, starting in Milan and ending in Sicily. In 30 days we saw everything from Lake Como & Garda, to the Dolomites, Venice, Pisa, Cinque Terre, Tuscany, Amalfi, Rome, Florence, Amalfi Coast, Matera and Alberobello, Tropea, the beaches and countryside of Sicily and plenty of hidden gems in between—over 2000km in total. It was an unforgettable trip, and I pushed myself further into the editing process to reflect both the chaos and beauty of this country that holds so much history. I really hope you enjoy this one! Stay tuned for Greece, coming up next :) Music: Primavera by Ludovico Einaudi Subscribe to my channel for updates, and find me elsewhere... Exploring Italy’s most remote and romantic stretch of Riviera, we visit five tiny port towns: dramatic Vernazza, surrounded by vineyards; reclusive Corniglia, high on its bluff; pastel Manarola; hardscrabble Riomaggiore; and the pint-sized resort of Monterosso. Fishing for anchovies, sipping wine out of rustic barrels, and savoring twinkling Mediterranean vistas, we enjoy the ultimate Riviera adventure. | © 2014 Rick Steves' Europe At http://www.ricksteves.com, you'll find money-saving travel tips, small-group tours, guidebooks, TV shows, radio programs, podcasts, and more on this destination.
